Aspen Branch Flute in F minor

Most of the bark has been removed from this unsplit Aspen branch flute except for traces around the wonderful knot at the north end of the flute.  Measuring 21" in length and concert tuned to a mid-range F, it plays the minor pentatonic modes 1 & 4 with three, in tune, upper octave notes.  Deer lacing holds the bird to the nest.  The branch was gathered from the ground at Lava Point Campground in the backcountry of Zion Canyon National Park, location shown in the satellite map below:
