River Birch Branch Flute in F# minor

River Birch Branch Flute in F# minor

The very characteristic bark has been left on the unsplit Birch branch flute except at the knots which have been finely finished, some filled with crushed turquoise inlay.  Concert tuned to a mid range F #, it plays the minor pentatonic modes 1 & 4 with two in tune, upper octave notes.  American bison lacing with turquiose and horn bone beads holds the bird to the nest.
The flute measures 21 1/4" in length and the branch was gathered from a grove of River Birch trees
that grow in the wonderful Descanso Gardens.
