Gathered
from a Redwood
forest in Northern California where it had been
newly downed by the
wind and rain, this Coast Redwood (Sequoia
sempervirens ) branch has
found renewed
life and purpose as a beautiful flute with
a clear and
resonant voice. As
with all Dryad Flutes,
the branch was bored out unsplit, with no glue
seam to ever fail or
detract from its natural character and
strength. Some of the
dark red bark has
been left on contrasting with the sanded
and finely finished
sapwood of the branch. All knots have been
sealed to prevent leakage and the bark is
securely attached to the
wood. Deer
lacing holds
the
bird
to the nest and covers the drain hole, which,
along with the cedar
shoe on the bird and a ramped air exit hole,
provide excellent wet out
delay. Included is a high quality, padded
drawstring flute
bag custom made for this flute by Sabine. |
