Douglas Fir Branch Flute in Gm Respectfully and gratefully gathered from the Smith River Watershed in Northern California, this Douglas Fir branch flute sings with the beauty and ancient spirit of its old growth forest home. With a clear and resonant voice tuned to a Gm (A=440) pentatonic scale, this one of a kind flute was bored out unsplit so that its natural appearance, strength and growth rings integrity are left intact. Most of the bark has been left on, along with patches of lichen and bits of moss, well sealed and preserved to maintain adherence. Green tanned deer lacing lends its spirit and strength to secure the bird to her nest. To help prevent wetout, the bird has been fitted with a cedar shoe, and a drain hole, covered by the lacing, has been drilled into the air chamber.
