Gathered as
downed wood from a Redwood
forest in Northern California, where it had dried and seasoned
under its tree, this Coast Redwood
(Sequoia
sempervirens ) branch found new
life and purpose as a beautiful flute with a soulful and
resonant voice. As with all Dryad Flutes,
the branch was bored out unsplit, with no glue seam to ever fail or
detract from its natural character and strength. Some of
the bark has
been left on contrasting with the sanded and finely finished
sapwood of the branch. All knots have been
sealed to prevent leakage. Deer lacing secures
the
bird to the nest and covers the drain hole, which, along with the cedar
shoe on the bird and a ramped air exit hole, provide excellent wet out
protection. Included is a high quality, padded drawstring
flute
bag custom made for this flute by Sabine. |
