The bark has been left on this unsplit Elderberry (Sambucus mexicana) branch flute, measuring 13 3/4" in length, clearly and sweetly tuned to high D# minor pentatonic scale modes 1 & 4, with four in tune upper register tones.  American Bison lacing with bone beads secures the bird to its nest.  This branch was sustainably gathered, with prayer and respect, from a grove of Elderberry trees that grow within the the San Mateo Creek watershed of California.
