When under 5
years old, the bark of thhe White Birch tree,
Betula
papyrifera, is a golden-brown color, as in this
young White Birch unsplit, intact branch flute, its
beautiful bark left on, measuring 19"
in
length,
with 4 tuning holes. It is accurately tuned with a
clear, sweet voice to a 6 holed A
minor
pentatonic scale, playing 4 upper octave notes. To
aid against
wet-out, the bird
has been fitted with a redwood shoe, for its absorption
qualities, and a drain hole has been designed into the air
chamber. Knot holes been inlaid with
crushed malachite stone. Elk lacing with malachite and brass
beads
holds the bird to the nest.
