  Some of the bark has been left on this unsplit Ponderosa Pine (Pinus ponderosa) branch flute, sanded down to
the beautifully colored and patterned underlayer, creating a nice contrast with the finely finished, exposed wood grain. 
Measuring 14 3/8" in length, it is sweetly and accurately tuned to a high D minor pentatonic scale, modes 1 & 4, playing
three upper octave notes.  Elk lacing, with horn bone and brass beads holds the bird to the nest.
