Measuring 20 3/4" in length, this 6-holed
concert tuned
unsplit willow branch flute in G minor
pentatonic, modes 1 & 4, plays the gypsy scale as well
as 3
upper octave notes when the top (sixth) hole is
half-holed. One
of the joys in the making of branch flutes is
showing the natural beauty that is there in all aspects of
the
branch. With this willow, I've played with the color
contrast
between the lighter wood and smooth under-layer of
bark. In a few
of the deeper wood wrinkles on the left side of the branch
the rougher
outer bark has been kept. The whole
flute has been
finely finished and a few knot holes inlaid with crushed
turquoise. Elk lacing
with turquoise and horn bone beads holds the bird to the
nest. The
branch for this flute was gathered along San Marcos
Creek, in San Diego County, CA
amongst a wild grove of willow trees. SOLD price includes U.S. shipping cost, "How to Play and Care For Your Dryad Flute" booklet, a lined felt drawstring flute bag and a quality guarantee.
