The bark has been left on this 6 holed English Walnut unsplit branch flute, with veins of red jasper stone inlaid into what were crevices on the left side and in the bird, contributing color and an impression of red lichen growing on the shady side of the branch. The flute measures16 5/8" in length. Black tanned elk lacing with brass and red jasper beads holds the bird to the nest. The branch was gathered from a wild grove of English Walnut trees that grow along San Marcos Creek in California.
