Some of the very
characteristic bark has been left on this unsplit
Ponderosa Pine branch flute, creating a nice contrast with the
finely finished, exposed grain. Measuring 20 1/4", this
flute is concert tuned to a mid range F# minor and plays the
pentatonic modes 1 & 4 as well as the gypsy scale, with
two in tune, upper octave notes. Black tanned elk lacing
with red horn bone and turquoise beads holds the bird to the
nest. A bit of crushed turquoise stone was inlaid into
the knot at the 5th tone hole. The branch was gathered from a
Ponderosa Pine forest that grows near Yosemite National Park
in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California.
Sold price includes tax and shipping cost, "How to Play and Care For Your Dryad Flute" booklet and a nice felt drawstring flute bag. |
